LESSON 3

Sending & Receiving Crypto

Lesson Goal

Learn how to send and receive crypto safely

Receiving Crypto

To receive crypto, you need your wallet address.

A wallet address:

  • It is a public string of letters and numbers

  • It is safe to share

  • Tells others where to send crypto

To receive crypto:

  1. Open your wallet

  2. Copy your wallet address

  3. Share the address with the sender

Always make sure the sender is using the correct network.

Sending Crypto

To send crypto, you will need:

  • The recipient’s wallet address

  • The correct network

  • Enough balance to cover fees

Steps to send crypto:

  1. Paste the recipient’s wallet address

  2. Enter the amount

  3. Check the network carefully

  4. Confirm the transaction

Once sent, transactions cannot be reversed.

Transaction Fees

Most blockchains require a small fee to process transactions.

Fees:

  • Pay network validators

  • Vary depending on the network

  • They are usually small but necessary

If you don’t have enough to cover the fee, the transaction will fail.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Sending crypto on the wrong network

  • Copying the address incorrectly

  • Sending a large amount without testing first

When in doubt, send a small test transaction first.

Staying Safe

  • Before confirming any transaction:

  • Double-check the wallet address

  • Confirm the network

  • Take your time

  • Rushing causes most mistakes.
